Today we went to Biosphere 2 in Oracle, just a few miles north of Tucson. The place has been sold and will likely be torn down to make a prettier view for the people who are building houses near here.
We took the tour, headed by Claudio, a rude guy who used to be part of the Biosphere project. We enjoyed the tour, seeing the rainforest, desert, plains, and ocean biomes.
The first picture here is of some adobe buildings that were used for offices and housed researchers during the project.
The last picture is inside the "lung" of the Biosphere 2. This is where the air was allowed to expand to keep the complex from exploding from heated air -- something like that!
It was a very fun day!
