I’m wanting to restart the myJanee.com Art Challenge, which I ran between 2001 and 2007. It was a good attractor to people to my site and I made some good friends. Not only that, but people made art that they otherwise might not have done.
I’m trying to figure out a way to do it so that people could post their work themselves, anonymously. I also want to have a forum attached, so that the participants could comment on each others’ work. The way I did it before was all by brute force. People would email me their work, I’d post it to my site, and I’d format my on-site bulletin board for comments. It was really a labor-intensive thing for me.
So I’m looking into pBase and Instagram and … other places. I’d love to do a Challenge again, but I have so many other pursuits going, and I’d want time to make my own art, that I don’t think I want the time-consumption of the brute-force method again.
