March 2004 Trip to San Francisco -- Part 2
What fun we had after the conference was over! Michael and I walk every single day about 3 miles. Well, in San Francisco, we practically doubled that amount! San Francisco is just perfect for walking, with its varied terrain (that's French for "lots of hills!"), and ready public transportation for when you are just too tired to walk any further.
Here are some scenes. I tried to capture the hilliness aspect with the photo of the garages and the yellow house with cars parked at a slant. Middle of the 3rd row is the famed Lombard Street, the "Crookedest Street," with Coit Tower in the distance.
The big pyramid building is the TransAmerica Pyramid, a nice landmark at the base of Columbus Street.

On Sunday morning, we walked to the top of Telegraph Hill, and took these pics of the view from the top! I'm not sure what those stop signs are doing there like that, but thought it an interesting photo! |

Grant & Green! I loved this building on the corner, with its picture of President Grant, from the $50 bill.
And walls! These were from Chinatown. Ok... i like walls.
And looking up Telegraph hill again. So I didn't get them in perfect order, did I? ;)
